Realism Revisited: The Florence Academy of Art
July 14th - October 4th 2003
With realism again on the ascendancy in contemporary art, it is not surprising that the classical art academy is also experiencing a revival. Hirschl & Adler Galleries is proud to present the work of twenty artists associated with one such new academy flourishing in Florence, Italy, the birthplace of the Renaissance, aptly named The Florence Academy of Art. Realism Revisited: The Florence Academy of Art showcases seventy-five realist works of art created by an international group of artists, all of whom are faculty or alumni of The Academy. While diverse in their means of expression, these artists share a common bond in their conscious effort to adhere to traditional studio practices.
